What do you want to know?
Anglican Catholics are not Roman Catholics. They are not Episcopalians, and they aren’t a spin off from the Church of England. But we have Bishops, and an Archbishop. There are two or three Priests in our Church most Sundays. We have a set format for the service - almost the same every Sunday, but the readings from the Bible are different each week. We have a short sermon based upon the teachings of the readings that day - we don’t preach about current events. We sing four of five traditional hymns, and we read from the Psalms in unison.

After the service most of us go over to the Parish Hall for a buffet lunch, which is always very good. And we talk. And you can always join in, because we are always looking for new listeners.

This is not all of us, just the ones who liked having their picture taken
So how are we different to other Churches in Charleston? We haven’t changed the Bible, the Prayer book, or Church dogma in order to make it more “attractive” to the younger generations. We play traditional music on an organ; the choir is the congregation We have no overhead displays, instead we read from a traditional prayer book and sing from a traditional Hymn book For visitors we have a hand-out with all the readings organized.
No-one is going to try to “convert” you, and no-one will say anything negative about your beliefs, or church affiliation. God does the conversion of the heart. All we do is provide a place for you to communicate with God, and with those that God has already made His friends. You can approach anyone and I am sure that they will want to chat with you.

After lunch there is a serious Bible study but it’s much more than this - we teach an adult understanding of the gospels. We don’t rehash the basic stuff that you have heard since childhood. You will never be bored and your mind will often be stimulated with new ideas, new insights.
We don’t need your money. We have no debt, and we pay all our expenses from the contribution of our existing congregation. When you come to us, we don’t think about your social standing, your occupation, your possible contributions, we only care about whether you feel that God has called you to follow the teachings of the gospels.
We are one big family: country, low key, unpretentious, well educated, God-fearing, and kind. For some reason other people don’t know about us. Perhaps because we hardly advertise, and we don’t have big signs pointing our way. Occasionally God brings some-one to our door, and if they stick around for lunch, and come back a couple of times, they usually fall in with the crowd.
If you are called by God to do something to improve your spiritual life, come and see us (click on the “MAP” link above). Call the Church; the Vicar will always call you back - and this is so different to most churches who don’t return calls from strangers. If you can’t get the Vicar, call Glen at 412-6302.
Service starts at 10 AM on Sunday, and we have a Eucharist service on Tuesdays at noon, and Morning Prayer service on Saturdays at 9AM. Most days there is someone in the Parish Hall to talk to.
Ask for Glen Miller, or Elaine Miller, and we will sit with you and and make sure that you don’t get lost with the liturgy (worship), and we will introduce you to people who want to make friends.
