Our Duties: Part 1 of 3 - Tithing - a personal choice?
When you contribute money to support St. Timothy, even if it “hurts” your other plans or ambitions, you are following in the footsteps of the disciples of Jesus. Jesus taught the disciples that the less they had, the more blessed they were. His apostles were penniless, but how blessed of God they were.
You determine the amount of money to give to the Church according to your conscience and circumstances. In the story of the Widow’s Mites, Jesus said that the widow’s small offering to the Temple treasury (equal to perhaps two cents) was a more righteous act than the hundreds of dollars given by the rich members. Jesus’s spiritual message was: that her offering showed how much she trusted God to provide for her needs - her food, home, clothing etc. - for she gave the church all “her living” - which probably meant everything she had gained that day/week.
The more of your “wealth” that you give to the Church, the more God sees you putting your trust in Him, rather than in your own hands.

SHROVE TUESDAY
The Pancake Supper was delicious, filling and fun. The men did the cooking, the
serving and the cleaning while the ladies did the eating. They did leave us a few
crumbs. Thanks to all the guys that helped, especially Jim Duffy, Harry Muller and
Rick Miller

It really doesn’t seem possible, but on Jan. 1, 2008 .I will have completed 13 years here in Charleston at St. Timothy’s. As I begin this 14th year, I want to thank you for the past 13. They have been 13 wonderful years in my life. I could not have picked a finer and more loving group of people to make a parish. I feel, as does Carol, that we are all truly family. I pray that you all will have a very healthy and prosperous New Year. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE.
